10/27/2002:

It's a sad day for the music world of multiple generations. :

Tom Dowd has died and his contributions to the music industry are too innumerable to post here. I had the honor and pleasure to have worked with him during The "Allen Collins Band and " Lynyrd Skynyrd." Tom had been making records before I was born with such artist as Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton (Cream, Derek and the Dominoes), Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and these are only a few of the talent he had produced and discovered. Music has lost a major beat in the backbone of song.

May God rest his soul,
Randall Hall

We put up the interview with Randall that Mike did over at GRITZ today, in case some of you have not read it. There are some really good stories in the article.

o.k. folks - I put up new photos in the Multimedia Section. I also canned the "SlideShow" and just used regular thumbnails. I had quite a few e-mails from people saying they could not see them before. Anyway, there up. Be sure to look at the top of the Photo Gallery page because I added 3 sections - "Miscellaneous Skynyrd Photos", "The Early Days" and "Fan Fotos". Fan Fotos are photos that fans have uploaded to the website. I have given credit the folks that left a name with the file. I used there descriptions of the photos on the page also. Hope you enjoy the new photos!! Later -

We uploaded the new MP3 player this morning. You can find it in the New Music Samples Section. It does require the Flash 6 Player, which you can download here. It actually "streams" the music in so it should run pretty smooth for you folks on a regular dial-up connection (AOL). Please let me know if you like it - e-mail me at Webmaster@RandallHallBand.com. - Thanks!

Well, just finished up the last few things we had on the plate. We are highly convinced that the site will "go live" tomorrow! I just want our team of developers to go over the site one more time, thoroughly, to make sure everything's right. Sorry - call me a perfectionist! Plus, it's friday the 13th today - if I put the site on now, it'll blow up or something!

Downtown Jacksonville had a very nice parade with firefighters and police. The bagpipes are what got to me! We wish all of you well and our prayers go out to the families that lost a loved one on September 11th!
